Mary E. Johnson Obituary
WAUWATOSA- Mary Elizabeth (nee Toal) Johnson joined her loving husband, Fredric Grant, on Tuesday June 14, 2022 aged 91 years. They were married on May 4, 1957. She was preceded in death by parents Harold John and Fyrn Beatrice (Empey) Toal and siblings James Francis, Susan Jane (Burns) and Thomas Roderick. Dear mother of Mark, Martha (Mike) Manno, Eric (Dorene), Brad, and Brian. Loving grandmother of Katherine (Alex) Wysocki, Elizabeth (Mitchell) MacArthur, and Margaret (Brent) Schwartz; Jacki (Mitchell) Sabaz and Jessica Johnson; Aiden, Ella, and Brennan Johnson. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Mary graduated from Marquette University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked at the Lutheran Home for 17 years. Mary was a lifelong member of the Wauwatosa Ave. United Methodist Church. Mary was also an avid (excellent) sewer and crafter (though she may have left the occasional pin in a project, much to the chagrin of the recipient).
Mary was a member or volunteer in the following organizations: Red Arrow Club, Phi Delta Delta (Local) Sorority, Wauwatosa West HS Band Boosters Cub Scout Den Leader (Raised 4 Eagle Scouts), Girl Scouts, Volleyball (Jewish Center), PEO and Eastern Star, Pine Lake Methodist Camp (Westfield WI). There will be a Celebration of Life at the Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church, 1529 Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa on Saturday June 25, 2022. Visitation starting at 10:00 AM until Time of Memorial Service at 11:00am followed by a reception in Fellowship Hall.
