Mary Agnes Pickart Obituary
Mary Agnes (Woelfel) Pickart was born to Eternal Life on Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at age 91. Loving wife of the late Robert A. Pickart for 31 years and beloved mother of Bill (Sandy), Joe (Katie), and Therese (David Winkler). Special grandmother of Robert (Andrew Dwyer), Jason (Katie Cowen), Kevin, and Andy Pickart; Sam, Lily, Max, Maeve, and Lucy Pickart; and Sarah Winkler. Dear great-grandmother of Charlie Pickart. Mary was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 28, 1931, to the late William and Loretta Woelfel. Mary was the darling youngest sister of the late Florence (Donald) Schmidkunz, James (Elaine, who survives) Woelfel, Helen (Thomas) Mueller, and Virginia (Richard) Wirth. She was the sweet, fun-loving aunt to countless nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Mary graduated from Holy Angels Academy in 1950; worked as an executive secretary at Marquette University throughout her life; and raised and nurtured her family in Wauwatosa, WI. Mary will be most remembered for her kindness, her strength, and her joy in gathering with her children and grandchildren. She loved a good party! Her wedding day, October 4, 1958, remained one of her most favorite days. Bob Pickart was the love of her life. Mary was devoted to her faith, her family, and her friends. She attended daily Mass at St. Anne's Salvatorian Campus.
Mary's family wishes to thank the excellent nurses, CNAs, volunteers and staff at St. Anne's for their compassionate care throughout Mary's journey home over the past 16 months. She loved her caretakers and friends at St. Anne's, as well as her extraordinary nurses from St. Croix Hospice.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 10 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Mary's home parish, Christ King, 2604 N. Swan Blvd., Wauwatosa. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ King Parish, Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, St. Anne's Salvatorian Campus or St. Croix Hospice are appreciated.
