Kathryn Toohill Obituary
Kathryn "Kay" Toohill (nee Dennett) passed away peacefully on December 23rd at St. Camillus in Wauwatosa, WI. Kay was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse. She was born in 1937 in Marquette, MI to the late Harold Dennett and the late Louise Dennett (nee Gaviglio). She is survived by her five children, Carol, Kathleen (David), Robert Jr. (Jennifer), Andrew, and Patrick (Jill). Kay is further survived by her nine grandchildren, Daniel, Teresa, Grace, Edward, Ryan, Thomas, Nicole, Margaret, and Samantha. She is preceded in death by Marie Dennett (nee Reichel), her beloved stepmother and her brother Robert (Jan). She will be fondly remembered by her large extended family and many friends.
Kay grew up in Marquette and Midland, MI, where she made lifelong friends. She attended nursing school in Milwaukee and met her future husband while pursuing her nursing career. Kay and Bob married in 1960 and lived for several years on the east coast while Bob completed his naval career. They later settled in Wauwatosa, WI and raised their children. Kay enjoyed travelling the world, she was involved in her church, volunteering with charitable and social organizations and worked for several years as a school nurse. Kay loved spending time with her friends and family and many summers at the family lake cottage in Eagle. Kay had a love for reading, enjoyed nature and had quick wit. She will be remembered for her down-to-earth personality, generous and kind heart, and devotion to her family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Funeral Home from 1 PM until the Memorial Service at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Wauwatosa Public Library Foundation (https://tosalibraryfoundation.org).
