Joan was born in Sauk City, Wisconsin and after a time in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin she moved to Milwaukee as a teenager where she attended Washington High School. After graduating she began work and found a career at Pate Oil Company for 20 years until becoming a mother. She then devoted her life to being a wonderful wife and mom giving fully of herself. Later in life she became a grandmother that would do anything for her grandchildren, especially clothing them with all the best that Kohl's Department Store had to offer. She was an avid sports and game show fan, either of which you would find her watching daily. She was an active member of the Suburban Woman's Club of Wauwatosa for many years gaining several long lasting friendships that also led to the famous "Lunch Bunch" group. She was a resident of Wauwatosa for over 66 years and a member of St Joseph Parish for over 46 years.

Joan's family would like to thank the entire staff at Congregational Home in Brookfield for the loving care they gave her every day during her time there.
