He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald and Mayme; his stepfather Ned; his brother Rev. Eugene O'Brien; and his sister-in-law Ann Herrick (Joe).

He is survived by: his significant other Joanne; his sons, Kevin (Carol), Patrick (Betsie), Tim (Jan) and Michael; his grandchildren, Irish Clan, Katie, Matthew (Laurie), Dan, Casey, Meagan, Kelsey, Molly, Tim (Jenny), Connor and Michael; his great grandchild Kellen; and his siblings-in-law, Germaine Sabljak (late Joe), Millie Oehlke (Carl), Ferdy Ertl (Rosemary), Dorothy Christensen (Harvey) and Lorraine DeGrave (Bob). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Both will require masks and social distancing as part of COVID 19 regulations.
