James M. Hass Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Hass. Jim passed peacefully at home surrounded by his wife, Julie, and children, Molly, Matthew, and his favorite child, Megan (who may or may not be the one typing this).
Jim's legacy will continue on through his wife, Julie (Kneppreth) Hass; Kids: Molly (Joe) Tupta, Matthew (Sheri) Hass, and Megan (Darren) Ackley; siblings: Maribeth Bush; Grandkids: Tamika (Kaz) Bohannon, and Levi, Jack, Olivia, Evi, and Zuri Tupta, Max and Owen Hass, and Ella and Manning Ackley. He was welcomed by family who were waiting for him: Robert and Veda Mae Hass (parents), Rick Hass (brother), Jerry Bush (brother-in-law) and Jeff Peters (nephew).
Wauwatosa was where Jim spent most of his life. He attended Christ King Grade school, Francis Jordan High School, and UWM where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Jim worked at multiple ad agencies before his 12 years at Miller Brewing Company. Upon departure from Miller, in Jim Hass fashion, he took a difficult situation and turned it into a wonderful adventure through the creation of OldDogDesign which he loved and ran until the end.
In his words, the best decision that he ever made was marrying the love of his life, Julie. That was his favorite adventure. They were happily married for a good chunk of the 51 years; raising teenagers was tough, one in particular. He treasured his grandkids. He was a fun-loving Papa and wingman to his grandsons.
The celebration of life is schedule for Saturday, September 28th at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Wauwatosa, at 10121 W. North Ave. Visiting hours will be 11:00am – 12:45pm with a memorial to follow at 1:00pm. All are welcomed to attend to celebrate Jim's life. In lieu of flowers, please talk to a stranger until they smile (or feel uncomfortable) and think of Jim, aka: Dad, Papa, Uncle Jim, Big Jim, Coach, Santa, Pal, Art Guy, and Brofriend! If you feel compelled to donate, donate your time or money to the non-profit of your choice in Jim's memory.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ariel Nelson and the wonderful staff at the Life Clinic at Froedtert Hospital for their tireless efforts and loving care over the past 5 years.
