Ilene Marconnet Obituary
Lora Ilene Marconnet, née Patterson, passed away peacefully at age 87 on March 5, 2025 with family by her side. Ilene will be missed by her husband Edward, children Gregory (Donna) Marconnet, Brian (Kristen) Marconnet, Jeanette (Michael) Collins, and Douglas (Tracy) Marconnet, twin sister Nora Irene Marconnet, sister Mary Ellen Swanson, brother Perry Patterson, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Hal and Marie (Cummins) Patterson, and brother, Randall Patterson.
After growing up in central Illinois, Ilene attended high school in Saunemin and graduated from Brown's business school in Peoria in 1957. While at Brown's she met Edward, the love of her life and beloved husband for over 67 years. Ilene spent most of her adult life in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, raising four children and watching with pride as they grew up and formed families of their own.
As a long-time active member of Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church, Ilene influenced the lives of countless children as a teacher at Curiosity Corner nursery school for 17 years. Then in retirement, Ilene and a dear friend created Quilters Quest, a fellowship of quilters from the church, sewing beautiful lap quilts for donation to local charities. Rounding out her commitment to the church, she served as an elder, was Sunday school superintendent and volunteered caretaking the Memorial Garden.
Throughout her life, Ilene cherished nature and the outdoors, gardening and her friendships. She loved spending time and traveling with family and friends, and was especially fond of the many annual summer family retreats in central Wisconsin.
Thank you to all of the angels who graced our lives in the last month, including the medical and care teams at Froedtert and ProHealth AngelsGrace Hospice.
Visitation at Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church (2366 N 80th St, Milwaukee, WI 53213) on Friday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Internment at Wauwatosa Cemetery, followed by a reception in the church Fellowship Hall.
