He was predeceased by: his parents, S. J. Bergemann and Neva Bergemann; and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Julie Balge (Jonathan), Jay Bergemann and Jonathan Bergemann (Amanda); his grandchildren, Rebecca Frigge (Aaron), Joseph Balge, Benjamin Balge (Erika) and Rachel Balge; his children, Elizabeth Melott (Benjamin), Neva Bergemann, Ella Bergemann and Micah Bergemann; and his great grandchildren, Everley and Emerson Melott.

Memorials may be given to Wisconsin Lutheran High School or to St. John's Lutheran Church, Wauwatosa.
