Dixie was born and raised in Milwaukee, attended St. Anthony of Padua grade school and Pius XI high school. In 1961, Dixie married Frank N. Korosec and had three children, Jodi, Frank, and Jeff. In 1966, Frank passed away. Dixie worked tirelessly raising three children under the age of four, with much help from "Granny and Grandpa.". In 1968, Dixie married Ken Szohr. They had one son together, Michael.
Dixie/Mom/Gramzee was a wonderful gardener and avid antique collector. She had a great passion for rummaging. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, unconditionally. She enjoyed watching the children play and encouraged and supported them as they grew into the people they are today. She very much enjoyed sitting in the yard with Ken admiring her flower garden with a drink during cocktail hour.
Dixie was an extremely strong woman. She battled numerous hardships and illnesses throughout her life, but she never let them prevent her from participating in the children's lives. In sickness and in health, she had an angel by her side, Ken, who lovingly cared for her until she took her final breath.
