Barbara P. Giese Obituary
Wauwatosa – Barbara Phyllis Giese, age 90, loving mother, grandmother, neighbor and 50-year friend to the Tosa community passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital.
Barbara was born on May 21, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Zimmerman) Sontag.
Barbara graduated from Milwaukee West High School. She married the love of her live and best friend, John (Jack) Youmans Giese on December 2, 1960. They moved to Wauwatosa in 1970. Barbara was a wonderful homemaker, worked part time for Fisher grade school and the City of Wauwatosa, but was most loved for being the local crossing guard. Barbara was a devoted member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She loved working on her landscaping and gardens and continued diligently working in the yard till the day she passed.
Barbara was proceeded in death by Jack in 1996 and always talked of one day returning to his side. She is survived by her son Glenn (Jennifer Reed) and daughter Jacqueline; and 6 grandchildren, Josh Goldbaum, Rachael (Ben) Shannon, Bailey Goldbaum, Hannah Goldbaum, Emily Giese and Erik Giese and great grandchild Eli Shannon. She was proceeded in death by her sister Carol and her brother Frank.
Visitation will be held at Schmidt and Bartelt funeral home, 10121 W. North Ave, Wauwatosa, WI on November 17th from 4-6 pm, followed by a memorial service; Pastor Tyler Rasumssen from Mount Zion presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa.
