He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin A. Bartel and Rose Bartel (Polimadei); his wife Lois L. Wandrey; and his grandparents, Emil, Minnie Bartel (Pflugradt), Enrico and Lorenza Polimadei (Chieruzzi).
He is survived by: his stepsons, Aaron Bohn of Redgranite, WI, Brian Bohn (Penny) of Holmen, WI, Daron Bohn (Adrienne) of Appleton, WI and Ryan Bohn of Cameron, WI; his grandchildren, Barret Bohn (Juleigha), BriAnn McNaughton (Alex), Jesse Schafer, Cassie Schafer, Arden Bohn and Miles Bohn; his great grandchild Haven Bohn; his siblings, Nancy Hansen (Gerry) and Daniel Bartel (Sandy); and his brother-in-law Dale Wandrey (Vicki). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
