Charles Richard Kasubaski Obituary

Neshkoro - Charles Richard Kasubaski, age 80 of Neshkoro, passed away peacefully Friday morning, February 16, 2018 at the Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was surrounded by the love of his family. Charles was born June 5, 1937 in Neshkoro, son of Benjamin C. and Elizabeth (Mahar) Kasubaski. He was raised and was a life-long resident of the Neshkoro area, and graduated from Westfield High School.

Charles married Dorothy L. Wobschall October 11, 1958 at St. James Catholic Church in Neshkoro. Charles was employed at Speed Queen in Ripon for 47 years until his retirement. He also worked and took care of the family farm in Neshkoro, raising beef cattle and pigs. He worked hard in everything he did and could fix almost anything.

He loved tending to his large garden each year, providing his home-grown vegetables for his family and friends to enjoy. In his early years, he played fastpitch softball for many years. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, hunting with his boys, traveling and gambling with Dorothy and listening to polka music - but most of all, he loved his wife and family.

Charles was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church in Neshkoro. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Dorothy of almost 60 years, his 4 children, Cheryl (Kevin) Gaffney of Neshkoro, Keith (Colleen) Kasubaski of Wautoma, Brian (Lisa) Kasubaski of Jackson, and Thomas (Carrie) Kasubaski of West Bend.

He has 8 grandchildren; Kayla Gaffney, Joseph Kasubaski, Ashley (Josh) Nigbor, Steven (Lyndsey) Kasubaski, Joshua, Abbey, and Kaden Kasubaski, and Nina Schmidt; and 3 great-grandchildren; Brooklynn and Brennan Kasubaski, and Avery Nigbor. Charles is also survived by 4 brothers; Donald (Beverly) Kasubaski of Ripon, Robert (Patricia) Kasubaski, Clarence (Jane) Kasubaski, and Jack (Kathy) Kasubaski, all of Berlin; and 3 sisters, Dolores (the late Kent) Quinn of Kansas, Sandra (Dale) Standke of Fall River and Jane (Guy) Richard of Kieler, and 2 sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law, Diane Wheaton of Omro, and Russell (Paula) Wobschall of Berlin.

Charles is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by a son James, a daughter Mary, and a grand-daughter Gina Gaffney - all in infancy, his parents, brothers; James and Benjamin and a sister Barbara (Dennis) Dahlke, sister-in-law Ardene Henke and brother-in-law Norbert Wobschall.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23rd at St. James Place from 9:00 AM. to 11:30 AM. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:30 AM. at ST. JAMES PLACE (located next to St. James Catholic Church, on Highway 73 in Neshkoro.) Father William Whalen will officiate. In a private ceremony, Charles will be laid to rest at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Neshkoro.

Following the Mass, a luncheon will be provided. Please join our family to celebrate the life and exchange memories of Charles. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. James Catholic Church of Neshkoro are greatly appreciated. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Aurora Inpatient Hospice of Oshkosh for the wonderful care given to Charles and his family.
