He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sanders and Elsie Sanders (Bentz); his wife Cecilia Walkowski; his son Ralph D. Sanders II; and his siblings, James Sanders, Robert Sanders, Mary Lou Salzman (Arnold) and Shirley Kutil (John).

He is survived by: his sister Sylvia Sue Knapp (Robert); his sisters-in-law, Carole Sanders and Jude Walkowski; and his godsons, Michael Kutil (Laurie) and John Kutil. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
