He was predeceased by: his parents, Griffith Matthews and Ann Matthews (Orr). He is survived by: his wife Nanette Matthews; and his siblings, Beth Cory, James Matthews and David Matthews. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and dear friends.
As a testament to his compassionate spirit, Griffith has requested memorial contributions be made to the Marathon Humane Society, an organization he held dear to his heart.
