He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wierenga and Tena Elgersma Wierenga; his former wife Mildred Hopp; his son Mark Wierenga; his siblings, Connie DeVries (Thys) and Peter Wierenga; and his brother-in-law Louie Jansma.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Navis Tazelaar; his children, John Wierenga, Jean TerBeest (Randy) and Mary Medema (Jeff); his brothers, Louis Wierenga (Nancy) and Walter Wierenga (Linda) of Oregon; his sister-in-law Betty Wierenga; and his stepchildren, Ken Tazelaar (Sherri) of California, Michelle Tazelaar, Michael Tazelaar and Kris Tazelaar (Trisha). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
