He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara; his son Bradley Leisten; his granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Leisten; and his siblings-in-law, Karey Schmidt (Donald) and Hale Bremer (Diane).
He is survived by: his son Ross Leisten (Jill) of Salisbury, MD; his daughter-in-law Darlene Leisten; his grandchildren, Kristopher Leisten (Natalie), Madeline Leisten and Rachel Leisten; and his sisters, Joyce Van Galen (Herman) and Sharon Van Egtern (Richard). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
