It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Courtland A. Sperger Sr. of Waupun, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 2, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Sperger and Vida Sperger; his wife Romona Bauer; his son Courtland Jr. (Butch); his brother Donald; his parents-in-law, Roman and Leona Bauer; and his siblings-in-law, Carl Schraufnagel, Ray Gremminger, Don Franke, Shirley Sperger and Leona Schraufnagel.
He is survived by: his children, Mona Averbeck (Bill), Bob and Mike Sperger (Diane Coffen); his daughter-in-law Janet Sperger; his grandchildren, Steve Sperger (Rochelle), Janeen Gerlikovski (Tom), Ryan Sperger (Becca), Adam Averbeck (Tami), Nick Averbeck (Casey), Courtney Allickson (Joe), Louis Averbeck (Jenny) and Laura Deal (Adam); his great grandchildren, Andrew, Amber, Mekena, Kylynn, Emma, Miles of Sloan, AJ, Brayden, Charlize, Memphis, Garen, Estelle, Rhett and Reece; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Henry, Jacob and Kyle; his sisters, Hennie Gremminger, Mona Werner (Bernie), Erma Franke and Ruby Stommel (Dick); and his sister-in-law Elaine Bauer.
