He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Hermes and Emma Hermes (Sausen); his adoptive parents, Richard Peterson and Clara Peterson; and his siblings, Annie Hock (Carl), Norb Hermes (Barbara), Vernon Hermes, Joseph Hermes, Merlin Peterson (Darlene) and Bob Hermes (Jean).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Hermes; his children, Bill Hermes (Patty), Joe Hermes (Lynn), Rollie Hermes (Debbie), Dan Hermes (Carla) and Deborah Lohr; and his grandchildren, Michelle Hermes (Dan), April Hermes, Ashly Owens (Damon), Robb Hermes (Molly), Michael Hermes, Nick Hermes (Amanda), Sheridan Hermes (Logan Rhodes), Jennifer Hermes, Kevin Hermes (Katie) and Zay Lohr. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
