He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nelson and Hilda Nelson (Spindt); his wife Kathleen "Kay" Nelson; his parents-in-law, Leonard and Maybelle Stevens; his daughter-in-law Delyse Nelson; and his sister Catherine Johnson (Richard).
He is survived by: his children, Kristine Waller (Gale), Karen Peterson (Dennis), Kent Nelson and Kim Nelson (Sonya); and his grandchildren, Jacob Waller (Meagan), Sara Wanty (Scott Tessen), Stacy Pire (Travis), Eric Peterson (Jenna), Joseph Nelson (Whitney), Timothy Nelson, Nathan Nelson (Zoey) and Emily Minton (James). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.
