He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Lewis and Mary Gladys McDonnell (Hamilton); his wife Judith Christensen; his children, Brett Hamilton McDonnell (Paul Rubin) and Evelyn McDonnell (William Shankle); his grandson Cole Hamilton Shankle; his stepgranddaughters, Karlie and Kenda Shankle; and his stepgreat-grandson Shine Hoover.
