He was predeceased by: his parents, George Jacobsen and Minnie Jacobsen (Richter); and his siblings, Lloyd Jacobsen and Marion McCullen. He is survived by: his wife Penny; his daughters, Kirsten King (Richard) and Julie Rodriguez (Andres); his grandchildren, Lauren, Alyssa King, Carolyn and Aleah Rodriguez; and his sisters, Lois Lewis, Lavonne Mueller and Carol Jacobsen.

Memorials are suggested in Vern's name to be distributed to some of his favorite charities.
