He is survived by: his spouse Jessie Dunham; his children, Emily and Alex Wurzel of Waunakee; his former spouse Jessie Wurzel of Waunakee; his brother Christopher Wurzel (Cynthia Suen) of Potomac, MD; his niece Sonia Wurzel of Arlington, VA; his nephew Mark Wurzel; his aunt Bonnie Holmes (Roy) of Grand Rapids, MN; his cousins, Allison Remer (Bryan) and Stephanie Pierzina (Jay) of Chisholm, MN; and his godparents, Bill and Jan Hilliard of Duluth, MN. He is also survived by extended family and friends.

“Nick was more than a dad, a son, a brother and a friend. He was extremely smart. He loved the news, he listened to that every morning. He was always in the know. There wasn't much Nick wasn't up to date on. He was always teaching me things, I think all of the way up until our very last days he was teaching me. He was funny, emotional and caring. He was a lot amazing. I don't think I even compared to his love for Frank Sinatra, and I'm okay with that. He sure loved his Frank especially in the early mornings or while cooking. You could always find Nick in the kitchen or on a boat. He loved cooking and boating. It was kind of his thing. I can't forget his obsession with Disney and the color blue, everything had to be blue! Oh baby, I miss you and love you Nick! ♡ I'm with you always, and it's okay to shake your head when I'm having my conversations with you. As you would say, come home ♡”
