He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schutz and Florence Schutz (Volk); his siblings, Merita Schrank and Kenneth; his brother-in-law Allyn Bauer; and also Ronald.

He is survived by: his wife Alice; his siblings, Maxine Bauer, Marilynn Rebman and Connie Krayer (Eugene); and also, Brian (Judy), Jerry (Diane), Terri Karls (Alan), Doug (Karen) and Dennis (Angie). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
