He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Hellenbrand and Mary Hellenbrand (Kalscheur); his sister Mary Lou; and his siblings-in-law, Linus Haag, Robert J. Ziegler, Robert Gapikowski, Elaine, Marlene "Minnie" Hellenbrand and Joan Elver.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Clemens; his children, Gary Hellenbrand (Kathy), Lynn Laufenberg (Michael Schwister), Sheila Bunch (John) and Pamela Olsen (Douglas); his grandchildren, Jon Hellenbrand (Christa), Nicole Paffenroth (Trenton), Brittni Sauer (Joel), Jacob Wipperfurth, Trent, Cullen (Alisha Nolden), Kamden and Mikaila Olsen; his great grandchildren, Kyle, Katelyn Hellenbrand, Sophie, Charlotte Sauer and Paxton Paffenroth; his siblings, Herbert, Sharon Ziegler and Marv; and his sisters-in-law, Kay Gapikowski and Sandra Schmitz (Ralph Yearous). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
