He was predeceased by: his parents, William Paul Berger and Ellen Marie Berger (Wick); his wife Cheryl Berger; and his sisters, Kathryn Berger and Laurie Berger (Donald Stoltz).

He is survived by: his sister Kristine Papiernik (Mike Miller) of Watertown; and his siblings-in-law, Patti Cassel (Bruce), Michael Shea, Daniel Shea (Kathy), Tina Minich (Mike), Madelyn Shea, Mary Zimmermann (John), Kate Vergenz (Jim), Joni Schultz (Jim) and Brian Shea (Audra). He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the charity of one's choice.
