He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Wheeler and Charlotte Wheeler (Schult); his children, David Golliher Wheeler and Lisa A. Wheeler; and his sisters, Ruth Ann Cutsforth and Rachel Fay.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara (Maass); his sons, Donald Wheeler and Daniel Wheeler (Melissa); his grandchildren, Benjamin Wheeler (Kayla), Nicholas Wheeler (Shelby), Conor Wheeler, Nicholas Daniel Wheeler, Amanda Rueth (Christopher), Mitchell Wheeler (Kelly) and Christopher Wheeler; his brother Ronald Wheeler (Christine); his nephew Andrew; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Swanson (Alex) and Glen Cutsforth. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
