He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Schmidt and Margaret Schmidt (Freson). He is survived by: his wife Angela N. Newton; his children, Kelly Wiltzius (Mike), Diana George, Liz Taylor (Mike), John Myers (Peggy Sayles) and Sue Salmon; and his brother-in-law Don Newton (Cynthia). He is also survived by one brother, two sisters, 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
