He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schield and Margarete Schield; his brothers, Roger (Nancy) and Allen Schield; his niece Cheryl Schield; his parents-in-law, Harold and Dorothy Schubert; his brother-in-law Duane Martin; and his pet Sadie.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Schield of Watertown; his daughter Laura Pooler (Sean) of Milford; his brother Gerald Schield (Doris) of Stevens Point; and his siblings-in-law, Jane Helvey (Harold) of Merrill, Carol Kramer (Robin) of New Ulm, MN, Marian Martin of Tomah, Richard Schubert of Riverside, CA and John Schubert (Sue) of New Lisbon. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
