He was predeceased by: his parents, Elenore Heiden and John L. Heiden; his wife Theresa Legas; his brother Dennis; and his son-in-law Brian Weiher.

He is survived by: his children, Theresa (John), Elizabeth (Lance), Barbara (Bob), Margaret (John) and John; and his siblings, Donald and Rosie. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
