He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Lewein and Florence Lewein (Krehl); his brother James; and his son Gary. He is survived by: his wife Janice James; his children, Scott (Donna) of Madison and Terri Mohr (Jim) of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Alex Lewein (Laura), Pierce Klas (Alex), Aaron Klas (Vicky) and Ian Klas (Sarina); and his great grandchildren, Maya, Sonja Lewein and Ian Klas, Jr.. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

If desired, memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice Care.
