He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph McDermott and Dorothy McDermott (Stalf); and his grandson Wade. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Shannon McDermott True (Rodney), Kimberly McDermott (David Dicks), Sean McDermott (Elena), David Cummings (Jamie) of Deerfield and Michael Cummings (Jessica) of Lake Mills; his grandchildren, Zachery McDermott, Breeanna Weekley, Logan Hallmeyer, Ean Dicks, Shaylen McDermott, Kaleb Johnson, Kyle, Ian Cummings, Karis and Kaia Cummings; and his siblings, Jeanette Repperger (Cliff) of Cape Coral, FL and Edward McDermott (Joni) of Levittown. He is also survived by nephews, one niece, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name to the Waterloo American Legion Post 0233 would be appreciated by the family.
