He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmond Gillitzer and Rose Gillitzer (Pueringer); and his brother Jerome. He is survived by: his wife Diane Schmidt; his children, John Gillitzer (Deborah), Deb Archie, Michele Klee, Mick Gillitzer and Dawn Schoenwetter (Jason); and his siblings, Roman (Delphine), Ralph Gillitzer (Sharon) and Ethel Loehlein. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
In his free time he enjoyed gardening, bird watching, woodworking, reading western novels, scratch off tickets, and volunteering his time through charity work for St. Jude's.
