The memory of William Leon Cannan of Washington Island, Wisconsin, born in Bevier, Missouri, who passed away on October 28, 2024 at the age of 83, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his former wife Martha Ann Cannan; his siblings, Ida Lee, Margaret, Robert, John (Jackie) and James; and his parents, John Renie and Elsie Cannan (Ricker).
He is survived by: his children, Gerald Cannan (Susan) of Talbott, TN and Sue Cornell (Mike) of Washington Island, WI; his grandchildren, Nikki Cannan, Christopher Cornell and Michael Cornell (Jasmine); and his stepchildren, Laura Leatherman of Key West, FL, Corey Cannan (Justine) of Lockport, IL and Corena Morehead of Kirksville, MO. He is also survived by eleven step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests donations be made to the Bradley Jordan Gymnasium Foundation for the Washington Island School Gymnasium (PO Box 251, Washington Island, WI 54246), Compassus Hospice, the Alzheimer's Foundation, or the Bayview Senior Care activities fund.
