He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville R. Jess and Florence Jess (Haas); his son Kelly Robert Jess; and his brother Robert Jess (Leanne). He is survived by: his wife Karen; his daughter Denise Jess (Jani Koester); his granddaughters, Rowan and Gemma Koester-Jess; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Pluta (Jenny) and Gary Pluta (Patti). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Butch's name to the Jackson Harbor Maritime Museum or a Washington Island organization of your choice.
