He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Gierzak and Mary Gierzak (Spesak); his wife Phyliss Fountain; and his siblings, Walter Gierzak Jr., Gerald Gierzak, Charles Gierzak, John Gierzak, Catherine Gierzak, Dorothy Volak, Lois Williamson and Lucille Tetzner.

He is survived by: his sister Janet Puig; and his sister-in-law Karen Gierzak. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
