He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Nelson and Ethel Nelson (Hagstrom); and his brother Bob. He is survived by: his wife Mary of Washburn; his children, Kelly Nelson (Tom Zappa) of Cumberland, WI, Brett Nelson (Rena) of Iron River, WI, Kimberlee Nelson (Daniel Ballach) of Afton, MN, Kerri Berglund (John) of Ashland, WI and Amy Dufek (David) of Ashland; his grandchildren, Derrick Zappa (Amy), Jessie Bushmaker (Josh), Derick Wade (Maria), Kyle Nelson (Jordan), Christopher Mathy (Olivia), Tanner Mathy (Clara), Makena Mathy, Cole Berglund, Wyatt Berglund, Mason Berglund and Chandler Berglund (Aaron); and his brother Dan. He is also survived by Ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mountain Funeral Home (220 3rd Ave E, Ashland, WI 54806). A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
