As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Larene may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Hohensee and Mary Hohensee (Dirks); her husband Harold; and her siblings, LaVerne Ackerman, Lester and Leonard Hohensee.
She is survived by: her children, Arnold (Coralie) of Viroqua, WI, Darvin (Kathy) of Tempe, AZ and Elaine (Chris) of Des Moines; her sister Lucille Boelman of Ankeny; and her sister-in-law Louise Hohensee. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Peter Lutheran Church (600 2nd Ave SW, Pocahontas, IA 50574). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at the Summit Hill Cemetery (52010 230th Ave, Pocahontas, IA 50574).
