He is survived by: his wife Margaret Jane; his son Dr. Richard Long (Barbara) of Viroqua; his grandchildren, Melissa Bolstad (Justin) and Matthew Long (Annie); and his great grandchildren, Harlow Jean Bolstad of Viroqua and Hyatt Lawrence Bolstad of Viroqua.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Don's memory to The Gundersen Medical Foundation.
