She was predeceased by: her parents, Mae Matthes and Fred G Matthes; her husband LeRoy Sanford; her daughter Margie Sanford of Viola; and her siblings, Sydney Matthes, Hilda Baker and Lucie Ellen Glick.

She is survived by: her children, Tim Sanford (Helen) of Fairfax Station, VA, Sylvia Vehmeier (Gary) of Lena, IL., Polly Benish (John) of Wonewoc, Rosie Koch Viola (David Lepley), Natalie Williams (Mark) of Savage, MN., Lacey Vinger (Dennis) of Viola and Samuela Geary (Mike) of Viola; and her brother Jim Matthes (Sandra) of Viola. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
