He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Herfel and Helen Herfel (Wesenberg); his wife Marcella M. "Marcy" Chenoweth; and his brothers, Lloyd (Orma) and Albert (Christine).
He is survived by: his stepson Michael Hogard (Sue); his granddaughters, Laura Holbrook (Nick) and Diana Davis (Mark); and also, Gladys Ray, Phil and Pricilla Marshall. He is also survived by one great granddaughter and one great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
