He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Lyons and Lillian Lyons (Genin); his sister Lillian Miller; and his brothers-in-law, Dick Schmale, Bob Schaller and Jerry Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Niebuhr; his children, Dawn Burke (Nick) and Shawn Lyons; his grandchildren, Elliana and Calvin Burke; and his siblings, Pat Lyons (Carole), Don Lyons (Mary), Virginia Schmale and Francita Schaller. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
