She was predeceased by: her parents, Jennie Mae (Ranney) and Ila Leonard Leigh; her husband Walter Basthemer Sr.; her sons, Walter Basthemer Jr. and Leigh Basthemer; and her sister Lorane Grupe.

She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Gavin (Stephen), Sandra Stenner (Lavern) and Charlene Simonson; and her grandchildren, Tamara Johnson (Patrick), Jason Cook (Alisha), Joshua Cook (Helena), Brian Stenner, Kevin Stenner, Will Simonson (Sara), Mike Simonson (Jenny) and Austen Basthemer. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
