James A. Bren Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James A. Bren of Verona, Wisconsin, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who passed away on May 18, 2022 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Bren and Eleanore Bren (Schwartz); and his close friend Karl Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Joanne (Szortyka); his daughters, Jenny Herritz (Scott) of Mount Horeb and Jill Rinzel (Micah) of Cottage Grove; his sister Susan Smith (David) of Coleman; his grandchildren, Hayden, Elliana, Levi and Alice; his sister-in-law Luane Krall; and his nieces and nephews, Becky Thill, Ryan Krall and Darron Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ALS Association, who supported Jim and Joanne through Jim's year-long journey with ALS, or the Carbone Cancer Center, who gave Jim six more years after his pancreatic cancer diagnosis.
