He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Hustad and Clara Hustad (Aftem); and his brothers, Archie, Maynard and James.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Bircher; his daughters, Cindy Hustad Carlson (Tom Carlson) of Gaithersburg, MD and Debra Hustad; and his grandchildren, D. C. and Mark Carlson of Weehawken, NJ. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
