He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Backhaus and Imelda Backhaus (Scherer); his brother Henry Backhaus, Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Arnoldi, Roger Rothmund, Richard Zeddies, George Braun and Maureen Zeddies.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Backhaus of Valders; his children, Scott Backhaus, Mary Griep (Tom) of Papillion, NE, Mark Backhaus (Jill), Michael Backhaus (Stacy) and Nicholas Backhaus (Cora) of Green Bay; his grandchildren, Christopher Backhaus (Laura) of Medford, MN, Hope Backhaus, Jayson Lefky, Hannah Hoschar (Michael) of La Vista, NE, Connor Backhaus of Papillion, NE, Gracie Backhaus of Green Bay and Amelia Backhaus of Green Bay; his great grandchild Asher Backhaus of Medford, MN; and his brothers-in-law, Diane Arnoldi of Sheboygan Falls, Pat Backhaus of Manitowoc, Pat Braun of San Diego, CA, Donald Zeddies (Jean) of Manitowoc, Lorraine Zeddies of Las Vegas, NV, Kathy Rothmund of Manitowoc and Lee Zeddies (Connie) of Manitowoc. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Manitowoc Humane Society in Glen's name.
