He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand W. Howard and Clara Howard (Mueller); his siblings, Ralph, Gordon, Donald, Patrick, Anna Mae Resler, Janet Anderson and Irma Braunsdorf; and his siblings-in-law, Lee Resler, Elmer Anderson, Gordon Blohowiak, Clarence Clausing, Jerry Wojnarowicz, Larry Braunsdorf and Lucille Howard.
He is survived by: his siblings, Delores Blohowiak, Orvel Howard (Violet), Audrey Clausing, Richard Howard, Joyce Wojnarowicz, Harley Howard (Betty), Herbert Howard (Deb), Darlene Wiedenhoeft, Malinda Towne, Wayne Howard (Kathy) and Sylvia Bobbitt (John); his sister-in-law Ethel Howard; and his goddaughter Holly (Jason).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joseph's name to the Highgrounds Veterans Memorial Park in Neillsville, WI.
