He was predeceased by: his parents, Timothy Cox and Minnie Cox; his wife Henrietta; his children, Steven and Vicki Hassett; his stepson William Goforth; and his siblings, Timothy, Robert and Marion Scruggs.
He is survived by: his daughter Peggy Amadio (Tony) of Kenosha, WI; his sister Judy Toll of Richmond, IL; and also Joe Scruggs. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be greatly appreciated, per William's wishes the family will donate them to the charity of his choice.
