He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Schoening and Lydia Schoening; and his brother Donald Schoening. He is survived by: his wife Rose Mary Nau; his children, Dr. James Kemmerling (Karen), David Schoening (Cheryl) and Beth Schoening (Chris Miskowski); his stepchildren, Kristie Nau, Kathie Krause (Bill), Darlene Van Swol (Dave) and Dean Nau (Janice); and his sisters, Shirley Warber and Pam Blaho (David). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family has suggested memorials be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or the Tavern League of Wisconsin Racine County.
