He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Schleis and Marie Schleis (Augustine); his wife LaVerne Wusterbarth (Novack); his son Joseph Schleis; his stepson-in-law Phil Conrad; and his siblings, Peter Schleis, Robert Schleis and Marie Snowden Due.
He is survived by: his former wife Ann Willman; his sons, Rick Schleis (Diane), David Schleis (Sandy) and Jim Schleis; his stepchildren, James Wusterbarth (Ann), Daniel Wusterbarth (Sharilyn), Matthew Wusterbarth (Sandra), David Wusterbarth (Cheryl), Nathan Wusterbarth (Therese), Susan Conrad and Lisa Konen (Robert); his siblings, William, Justin Schleis (Ranee), Joan Nate, Larry Schleis (Betty), Shirley Goff and Marilyn Saari; and his siblings-in-law, Terry Snowden and Leslie Dube Schleis. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Richard (Dick) J. Schleis, age 92, formerly of Kiel, died Monday evening, August 24, 2020 at WI Veteran's Home, Union Grove of COVID-19.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory to the WI Veterans Home in Union Grove (dva.wi.gov) or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
