He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thomas and Louise Thomas; his siblings, Mildred Penza (Arnold), Vincent Thomas, Marie Hanrath (Harold), Charles Thomas, George Thomas Jr., Marcella Mueller (Red), Alice Yacukowicz (John), Joe Thomas (Bette), Jerome Thomas and Ann McDonough (Jim); and his parents-in-law, Kathy Thomas and John Murphy.

He is survived by: his former wife Judith A. Yule; his wife Judy; his children, Laurie Paxton (Larry), Sandy Minnickel (Stan), Amy Lange (Jim), Jim Thomas (Debbie), Jeff Thomas (Tricia), Bill Thomas (Jeanne) and Chris Thomas (Sue); his grandchildren, Amanda, Tom, Alex, Danielle, Kevin, Kristi, Steven, Ben (Kristen), Lauren, Rachel, Drew, Austin, Quinn, Keaton, Carter, Addie, Nicole and Zach; his great grandchild Isla; and his siblings, Ralph Thomas, Jean Murphy, Kathy DeCono (Joe) and Rita Christiansen (Dick). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Froedtert Cancer Center, Graham Public Library in Union Grove or the Union Grove Yorkville Fire and Rescue Department.
